The Royal Wedding Highlights:

On the 19th of May 2018, all over the world people tuned in to watch and celebrate the happy couple tie the knot. Thousands of people eagerly waited on the streets of London to catch a glimpse of Meghan and Harry and millions tuned in on TV to watch the wedding from the comfort of their homes. The wedding took place at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle and the church was filled with royal family, Meghan’s close family and friends and dozens of celebrities, including: George and Amal Clooney, David and Victoria Beckham, Oprah Winfrey, the cast of ‘Suits’ and many more.

With so many amazing moments during The Royal Wedding, here are some of our personal favourite highlights that are not to be forgotten!

The love and affection:

It is clear that Harry and Meghan have a huge amount of love for each other but we were not ready for Harry’s displays of affection that melted hearts across the globe (cue tissues). The Prince was beaming from ear to ear as he saw his bride walk down the aisle and upon her arrival to stand next to him, the first thing Harry said was ‘you look amazing’. Harry and Meghan continued to look at each other with pure love and affection throughout the ceremony and it was clear to all that the love and chemistry between them was magical.

The Ceremony:

The ceremony followed the usual Royal traditions but also included a whole new concept for the Royals, with the concept of American spirituality. It was important for the couple to see the union of British and American cultures, this inspired people across the globe to unite. The officiant was David Conner, the Dean of Windsor, who did the usual, traditional honours. But one of our favourite highlights was a speech given by Michael Curry, an American preacher as well as the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church. Michael Curry spoke about the healing power of love during his speech, as well as quoting Martin Luther King, Jr.

How they met:

Prince Harry and Meghan came from two completely different backgrounds (not to mention on two different sides of the world), if you are a strong believer in fate then this is a true love story you just don’t want to miss! According to Meghan and Harry the couple were introduced by a mutual friend and set up on a blind date, where the two immediately hit it off.

Maybe don’t be so quick to turn down that blind date your friend is trying to set you on, you may just meet a prince!

The dress:

For weeks, everyone eagerly awaited to see what gown Markle would wear. Meghan’s gown was designed by Clare Waight Keller (Keller became the first female Artistic Directory at Givenchy last year.) The dress itself was simplistic and timelessly beautiful, the gown has a boat neck that framed her shoulders and three quarter length sleeves, the gown perfectly emphasised Markle’s slim figure. Meghan wore a five metre long veil, decorated with unique flowers that represented all 53 countries of the commonwealth. Meghan’s fairytale look was accessorised with a tiara which included a detachable brooch with 10 diamonds (this brooch was a present given to Queen Mary in 1893). The sparkling tiara included more shining diamonds and platinum that complimented Meghan’s simplistic dress and added a touch of sparkle!

For the evening reception, at Frogmore House, Meghan changed into a more relaxed gown, designed by Stella McCartney. This gorgeous dress is elegant yet showcases Markle’s modern fashion taste – we absolutely adore this dress and after all, why have one dress when you can have two?!
